1. According to national standards, in addition to meeting fire resistance requirements, the combustion performance of fire-resistant paint is divided into Class I and Class II. Under the specified experimental conditions, the flame resistance time of first level fireproof paint is not less than 20 minutes, and the flame resistance time of second level fireproof paint is not less than 10 minutes. 

2. Check whether the product has a qualified inspection report issued by a national fire quality inspection center, or you can search online. At present, the fireproof paint implements a fire protection product form recognition system, and the fireproof paint sold on the market should have a national fire protection product form recognition certificate and a form inspection qualification report.

3. The on-site construction of fireproof coatings should be based on the manufacturer's product packaging instructions, and generally does not require dilution with water. The coating should be applied on top, with a coating amount of not less than 500g/m2

4. At present, domestic enterprises produce fire-resistant paint with fire resistance reaching level two, and its cost price is over 8000 yuan/ton. If the sales price is lower than this, the quality is worrying.

5. In practical use, in order to ensure the fire resistance and other performance of fireproof paint, a transparent topcoat is generally required. The dosage of fireproof paint is generally 350-500g/m2, and the dosage of topcoat is generally 50g/m2. 

6. A preliminary inspection of the product quality can be conducted on site: cut two or three small samples from the already constructed substrate, or take a small amount of samples and apply them to the plywood according to the actual construction situation. Under normal circumstances, construction should be carried out according to the prescribed dosage (usually 500g/m2), with a foam layer thickness of 20mm or more for first level fireproof paint and 10mm or more for second level fireproof paint. The foam layer should be uniform and dense. After drying completely, check with the flame of an alcohol lamp. 

When fireproof paint is burned by strong fire, it will foam and expand in large quantities, gather on the surface, and there will be no burning phenomenon within a few minutes.
