In architectural design, steel structures and concrete floor slabs often fail to meet the requirements of fire safety regulations, and some materials used for indoor decoration and furniture have high flammability and are restricted from use. One of the simple and effective ways to solve these problems is to use fire-resistant coatings. The use of fire-resistant coatings on building components can improve their fire resistance rating. Drying the surface of combustible materials can meet flame retardant requirements and expand their application range.
1、 Working principle and classification of fireproof coatings
Fireproof coating is a type of coating that can reduce the flame propagation rate of combustible substrates or prevent heat transfer to combustible substrates, thereby delaying or eliminating the ignition process of substrates or delaying the instability of structural components and the gradual decrease in mechanical strength. For non combustible substrates, fireproof coatings can reduce the rate of substrate temperature rise and prolong the process of structural instability; For combustible substrates, fire-resistant coatings can delay or extinguish the ignition of combustible substrates.
The fireproof working mechanism of fireproof coatings is manifested in the following aspects:
1. The silicate hydration products in Jiangxi Youlinsheng fireproof coating dehydrate and vaporize when heated, absorbing a large amount of heat. At the same time, the heat absorbing material in the coating also consumes a certain amount of heat due to thermal decomposition or phase change, thereby reducing the rate of component temperature rise and improving the fire resistance of the component.
2. After being subjected to high temperatures, fireproof coatings can decompose into some inert gases, which disrupt the formation of necessary conditions for combustion.
3. After being heated, the coating forms a molten film and gradually forms a uniform carbonized layer, which in turn forms an expanded foam layer. Its expansion amount is 10-2000 times that of the coating degree.
There are multiple classification methods for Jiangxi Youlinsheng fireproof coatings. According to their usage areas, they can be divided into steel structure fireproof coatings, wood structure fireproof coatings, concrete structure fireproof coatings, etc; According to its film-forming material, it can be divided into organic, inorganic, and composite fireproof coatings; According to their solubility, they can be divided into water-based fireproof coatings and oil-based fireproof coatings; According to its flame retardant principle, it can be divided into expansion type fireproof coatings and non expansion type fireproof coatings. However, according to the functions and requirements of fireproof coatings in current national standards, the most suitable classifications are structural fireproof coatings and decorative fireproof coatings. The specific classification is shown in Figure 1.
Overall, fire-resistant coatings have various scientific or empirical bases in terms of research and development technology, quality control in the production process, and application in construction. So it is a relatively mature product.
2、 Decorative fireproof coatings for fire-resistant coatings
The main function of decorative fireproof coatings is to effectively reduce the surface combustion characteristics of combustible substrates after application, thereby improving the fire resistance of building materials.
1. Physical and chemical properties
Fireproof coating, as a protective layer and decorative material, should have the physical and chemical properties required by the target audience.
Note: For transparent fire-resistant coatings, the allowable surface dryness is ≤ 24/h, and the required dryness is ≤ 72/h
Before testing its fire resistance performance, the physical and chemical properties of fireproof coatings should comply with the provisions of Article 4.2 of GB 12441. See Table 1.
Fireproof coatings should have an appropriate service life, during which the coating of the fireproof coating should remain intact and all physical and chemical properties should be effectively maintained.
2. When the fireproof coating cannot simultaneously meet the performance indicators specified in Table 2 for a certain level, the lowest level performance data shall be used as the basis for classification.
① Large board combustion method
This method tests the flame resistance characteristics of fireproof coatings applied to the surface of combustible substrates under specified substrate and specific combustion conditions, and evaluates the flame resistance performance of fireproof coatings based on this. This method is only applicable for testing the flame resistance of various sieve type fireproof coatings.
The entire testing process is carried out in accordance with the temperature standard curve requirements. From the moment the specimen is exposed to fire until the temperature rise on the back of the specimen reaches 180 ℃ and penetration occurs on the back of the specimen, this period is the flame resistance time of the decorative fireproof coating.
