It is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents and various mineral oils. Chlorinated paraffin 52 is a light yellow to yellow oily viscous liquid. Its freezing point is <20℃, and its relative density (25/25℃) ranges from 1.22 to 1.26. It is soluble in benzene and ether, slightly soluble in alcohol, and insoluble in water.
